Our Simplified Process
For John R. Dennis Wellness Center
01 Challenge
After nearly 30 years of anticipation, the City of West Lafayette prioritized the development of a wellness center as a critical element in their 2016 master plan. The challenge was to create a timely, state-of-the-art facility that met the diversified needs of the community.
02 Solution
Veridus Advisors, serving as Owner’s Representative, collaborated with the City of West Lafayette, Perkins&Will, and Skillman Corporation to oversee the project. Despite facing delays due to COVID-19, the team managed to deliver the 73,000 square-foot Wellness Center using the Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc) project delivery method, ensuring it remained under its $34 million budget at $32 million.
03 Results
The John R. Dennis Wellness Center, which opened in January 2021, successfully met the community’s needs with features such as inclusive restrooms, a zero-depth entry pool, three gymnasiums, a walking track, a fitness center, and extensive natural light. The facility received the 2021 AIA Merit Award, recognizing its excellence.
